All cultures recognise the need to ritualise or perform a specific ceremony
which acknowledges major life transitions.
It is the nature of human beings to grow, to evolve, to increase relationships with ourselves, each other and our world. We have, therefore, come to recognise the need for personalised and meaningful ceremonies. It is understanding that a wide range of ceremonies are necessary to fill human need, benefit society and add meaning and purpose to people’s lives.
In 1929 anthropologist, Arnold van Gennep, coined the term “rite of passage” to describe the universal practice of ceremonialising life’s major events, including
- birth – newness
- entry – making contact with others
- initiation – willingness to learn something new and be tested on it
- marriage /mergence – capacity for commitment, integration and unifying opposites
- demonstration – ability to facilitate, heal, teach, guide
- attainment – inner contentment, modelling a skill or talent and
- death –letting go, moving out from the old into the new.
After years of performing the flagship ceremonies of weddings, name giving's and funerals, many celebrants, as stated by Dally R Messenger:
"realised there were bigger dimensions to their role than they had ever thought of...We realised we have a responsibility to encourage the arts and the culture, to strengthen relationships, to fill a psychological and spiritual void. Now we see that different people need different strengthening occasions at varying times of their lives." *

My Fee
Whatever your choice of style whether formal, traditional, informal, contemporary, sacred and irrespective of size; preparation, consultation and attention to detail is the key to create your perfect ceremony. As many of the ceremonies listed are quite complex, a reasonable fee will be negotiated with you once your full requirements are known.
I am happy to travel to your Gold Coast venue including Tamborine Mountain and all Gold Coast beaches, parks and suburbs for ceremonies.

Our first meeting is completely obligation free where we can discuss the details of your ceremony and a time for you to determine if I’m the celebrant for you. Everything about your ceremony is ultimately your decision, including your celebrant. Enquire or make an appointment..
